Trippy Fresh Peppermint SAGE Tea
Take 8 to 10 fresh large SAGE LEAVES. Equal parts fresh PEPPERMINT LEAF. Chop both coarsely and place in a pot on stovetop with 16 oz SPRING WATER. Bring to low bubble simmer for 5 minutes covered. Turn off heat and let steep another 10 minutes or so covered. Strain. Stir in a touch of sugar or honey. Drink preferably warm or hot though on a hot summer day this will be nice chilled or blended with your favorite fruit juice. I like to add freshly steam extracted blueberry juice when the berries are in season.
This tea is very good for relaxation, reducing anxiety and stress and calming the nervous system. Take any time of day for creative persuits and activities. Taken before rest it will be beneficial for deep sleep and the possibility of a few dreams. Feels like cannabis but your feet will still be on the ground!! A relaxed mind is a creative mind. Enjoy!
For the scientifically minded: this tea provides a very safe and pleasantly mild dose of Thujone. Thujone is found in a number of plants, such as arborvitae (genus Thuja, hence the derivation of the name), Nootka cypress, some junipers, mugwort, oregano, common sage, tansy, and wormwood, most notably grand wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), usually as a mix of isomers in a 1:2 ratio. It is also found in various species of Mentha (mint).
