Yin Wood Snake Qigong

In preparation for the Yin Wood Snake new lunar year which this year falls on January 25th, 2025, I will lead a four week practice of Tien Dao Shenming Gong which is the perfect yin wood snake form. As opposed to yang Fire Dragon Gong, Tien Dao Shenming Gong is a yin water type form with smoothness of movement and expression. Very poetic. The above video is a quick overview and my artistic improvisation. I will teach the complete form and then variations that can be added. Like Fire Dragon this form is also from Mount Emei in Szechuan Provence and carries similar wild elements.

Tien means heaven. Everything above and outside of our bodies from the seasons, sky and clouds to the Sun, Moon, planets, fixed stars and even out to the firmament or zodiac and other eternal divine realms that exist beyond time and space. The Daoists called this the Dao; the quantum physicists are scratching their heads. So Tien Dao means a heavenly energy that emanates down from the heavens into our bodies and creates Shenming. Shenming means “manifest spirit/spirit brightness.” Ming specifically relates to illumination from the Sun and Moon. Solar and lunar principles are at play again in an internal alchemical way.
